“qué querés”, the debut single by NYC-based toso toso, emerges
with garden-like freshness and the sweet annoyance of trying to read a loved one’s mind.

With isabel crespo pardo on vocal everything, Kabir Adhiya-Kumar playing drums & percussion, Rahul Carlberg on keyboards/synth, and Sky Hill on guitar & electronic-ing, this newly blooming band of improvisers and maze-like song constructers reveals itself with a track that seems to emerge from the depths of a nighttime forest walk. It initially wanders slowly and heavily, like a trail with no real destination, yet ends up arriving at a climax that leaves you questioning exactly how you got there. Kabir’s electronic percussion turning halfway through into huge acoustic drums, accompanied in that moment by Sky’s glitchy string samples and Rahul’s synth bass brings the listener into a suspended state. And at the forefront, isa’s bird-like recitation of the title lyric, juxtaposed with their low and close growl, keeps the forest alive and present throughout the entire journey.
