Raays plaays is a collection of live performances mostly recorded at Leaving Records’ ongoing outdoor community concert series “Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight Under a Tree”, and during a Winter Solstice set at LA's Kinship Studios.

“This is a drumming album. Major inspiration comes from experimental
percussionists like Max Jaffe, Booker Stardrum, and friend and Technoself School of Philosophy teacher Deantoni Parks. Gratitude to my friend and collaborator Fumitake Tamura for granting permission to remix 裏10, his and Dakim’s track from Mudai Version, a record that’s been central to me since 2018.

Each piece is built from a palette of sounds spread across a small modular system and a drum pad sampler, allowing me to conduct the rig fully improvised, never to be repeated in the same way.

These recordings and this process serve as a reminder to stay playful.
